In the previous months, Mayor Garcetti had been promoting his campaign "Greenlight Hollywood" which,"target the greenlight committees of major studios and talent agencies, managers and financiers to promote Los Angeles as a film destination." Mayor Garcetti stress the importance of the film industry to California and wants everyone on board with him to,"Keep Hollywood in California."

I chose this article because i thought it was interesting how Mayor Garcetti continues to promote the film industry and stress its importance to California. This article is important because it shows us how Mayor Garcetti believes that the film industry is vital to California and everything possible must be done to keep it in California. As a filmmaker this shows me how important the film industry is to the economy. As a student this shows me how politicians see the value of the film industry and and are trying their best to help keep the industry alive.
